Sundrenched Bracelet

Sun-drenched tones of amber, gold and bronze are accented by shiny silver and earthy turquoise to create this glamorous one-of-a-kind sculptural style bracelet. I created this unique artisan bracelet to accompany the dramatic necklace of the same name.

Saturated tones of browns and yellows perfectly complement each other in both color and texture, with the shape and size variation adding the necessary element of contrast. These beads are carved from mother of pearl and dyed these deep, vivid colors. Mother of pearl is the iridescent coating on the inside of mollusk shells and is most commonly found on the pearl oyster from warm, tropical Asian seas. When a shell gets irritated, it coats itself with nacre (the same material as its lining) and after layers and layers form, a pearl is produced. That is why this lining, or nacre, is called the Mother of Pearl.

The large center bead is a beautiful turquoise stone that has the unique spider web matrixing for which Chinese turquoise has become known. Along with the tiny turquoise blue glass beads, this turquoise adds the blue water/sky imagery to this sun-drenched scene.

Specks of silver and gold add sparkle and glamour to the bracelet, enhancing the natural elegance of the mother of pearl beads. With the exception of the toggle clasp and ring, the silver in this piece is actually made in Greece from terra cotta that has been shaped, kiln-fired and heavily coated with pure silver. The fancy golden Bali-style beads are antique-gold plated pewter beads.

The bracelet closes with a sterling silver toggle clasp that was handcrafted by skilled artists from the Karen Hill Tribe in the remote mountains of Thailand. The Hill Tribes have become well known for their amazing silversmithing techniques and unique style. This bracelet will be adjusted to fit your wrist measurement.
