This striking neckpiece combines the drama of a collar and the elegance of a tassel creating a bold and graceful piece of jewelry fit for a theatrical performance. A wonderful replica of a Chinese coin from the Sung Dynasty gives this necklace a historical and cultural significance, making it even more desirable. Carved bone and agate beads, green turquoise, black onyx, and amber horn rings all add to the Chinese styling of this one-of-a-kind piece of handcrafted artisan jewelry.

Although a replica of ancient Chinese currency, this coin has the genuine look and feel of the real thing. It is a replica from a coin issued during the Northern Sung Dynasty, the period between 960 and 1126 A.D. Currency was directly issued by the Emperor of the time, who often inscribed the coins himself. Thousands of variations of inscriptions and calligraphy were used on the coins sometimes naming the Emperor and the year, the city, or even wishes of longevity, happiness and prosperity.

Varying tones of amber, black, ivory and gold harmonize together in this necklace to make a perfectly simple, yet powerful design. This classic color scheme is spiced up a little by the singular addition of green turquoise. Amber color horn rings add a unique element to the ends of the tassel, complementing the crazy lace agate beads of the collar. Black onyx and carved black agate add the dark tones to the piece, enhancing the colors of the coin itself, while the ivories of the antique bone and the sea urchin heishi brighten everything up.

Brass beads are used throughout this magnificent neckpiece to add depth and intensity and to bring everything together in a perfect state of balance. The bicone beads at the ends of the collar are African brass beads from Cameroon and bring soul to everything they touch.
