Aztec Warrior
Green Serpentine and Silver Fossil Pendant Necklace
Earthy shades of greens and browns are enhanced in multi-faceted shapes and magnified by etched, antique silver drums, filling this necklace with heart and soul. The centerpiece of this necklace is an intriguing teardrop shaped pendant with Aztec-style markings etched in beautifully antiqued silver. The bold colors and strong geometric lines and shapes give this piece masculinity while the smooth, polished stones provide a feminine quality. A perfect contrast of shape, size and color along with symmetrical balance give this original piece of handcrafted artisan jewelry grace and harmony.
The majority of the silver in this necklace is actually silver-coated terra cotta. Shapes are formed out of terra cotta, cast in copper, recast in 100% fine silver, and then antiqued. These beads are handmade, each slightly different than the next. Formed by this same process, the beautiful pendant matches perfectly with the other silver beads.
Ranging greatly in color from white to green to black, the magnificent stones are faceted and polished serpentine, often mistaken for jade or yellow turquoise. The marbling varies greatly among the beads, some being solid while others are heavily lined. The silver beads separate the stones so you can enjoy each one individually. Because of the extreme natural variation of serpentine, no two necklaces will be the same.
This designer necklace closes with an antique pewter toggle and ring clasp and is approximately 18" in length. You may be interested in the matching Aztec Warrior bracelet that was designed to accompany the necklace.
