This gorgeous Japanese-inspired bracelet is both dramatic and classy, a nice balance of antiquity and modernity. An ornate designer toggle clasp provides both function and beauty and coupled with the antiqued brass filigree beads makes for a wonderful contrast to the engaging mossy green rhyolite rounds. A little bit of silver is added in to bring out the contemporary aspect of this overall earth tone bracelet. This piece goes wonderfully with both the one-of-a-kind Prehistoric Jungle necklace and the limited edition Saki Collar.
The stunning toggle clasp is a focal point of this piece of jewelry and is created by Saki Silver, a small group of artists working in Thailand. Their work is characterized by clean lines and unique details with an overall Asian-influence. Saki is actually the Japanese word for fermented rice, better known as "rice wine" which, as I have recently found out is served in Japanese restaurants with sushi…Sushi & Saki. But I believe Saki Silver is actually named after the owner Sak. Saki Shibu is made from a copper/silver alloy called "shibuichi" which has been used to make jewelry in Japan since the 8th century and the color of the metal can vary greatly depending on how it is finished.
Rhyolite is a volcanic rock with the same basic chemical composition as granite. As it cools quickly from a molten state, this unique stone has wonderful texture and color banding and crystalline occlusions giving it the appearance of fossilized rock. The beautiful color scheme ranges from mossy greens and browns to gray and white with even some clear inclusions. Because of the stones natural state, expect an occasional indentation and slightly rough texture in some places. Rhyolite is said to light the fire of creativity, bringing about change, variety and progress in ones life.
This bracelet will be made to fit the requested wrist size. Although not a one-of-a-kind, due to the handmade nature of the beads and components, no two bracelets will be the same.
